Home isn't a place; it's where your loved ones congregate. As Chapin and I prepare to sell our home, and I'm torn about wanting to leave the house and community we've built in West Midtown, I have to remind myself that my "home" is wherever Chapin, Tulip, Norman and Wally are located. They are my family, and as long as we're together, I can be happy.

I'm still not sleeping well, though! Stress is a terrible thing...

Today's dress is one I've had for months but just haven't worn yet.

Dress: Shoshanna Emery Black and Gold Polka Dot Dress

I love the relaxed nature of the silhouette combined with the more formal look of black and gold polka dots. The balloon sleeves and v-neck just add to the overall chic but breezy design.

The dress is no longer available, but there is a similar dress by Ted Baker available at Nordstrom. Rebecca Taylor also has a black and gold leopard print dress in a similar silhouette.

I didn't even bother wearing a jacket today! The high will be 57 degrees, and I'm hoping this mild weather lasts until Sunday, when I'm running in the Hot Chocolate Atlanta 15K race (about 9.3 miles). I'm excited at anything that involves chocolate, even if it requires me to be up before the sun on a Sunday morning.

Shoes: Saint Laurent Paris 80 Studded Cap Toe Pumps

I've had these shoes for years, so they are no longer available, but the cap toe trend doesn't seem to be going anywhere. Here's a more updated version of this pump, available now at Neiman Marcus. (I hope they go on sale; I think they are fabulous.)

Aging Overnight

Did anyone ever say that moving can age you overnight? Well, if not, I'm saying it now. Moving is stressful, and I'm definitely feeling the effects. I really need a good night's sleep, but with everything on my plate right now, that seems like something I'm going to seemingly live without for awhile.

Today's dress is super chic and flattering and perfect for a mild winter day. I'm so glad to be getting close to the end of January, my least favorite month of the year. I look forward to the day when I leave the office and it isn't already pitch black outside.

The dress is on sale now at Neiman Marcus for just $89 (marked down from $298). It's a really comfortable dress, too, and I love how well these Sophia Webster pumps match the snakeskin print.

These pumps are also on sale at Bloomingdale's. I've been loving Sophia Webster designs lately. These shoes are more on the practical side, but so many of her designs are whimsical and fantastical in nature.

When You're Tired and It Shows

Ugh! The dark circles under my eyes are awful today. Hopefully I can get a good night's sleep tonight. Even makeup sometimes can't help those bruises under the eyes.

I know it's January, but it's also almost 70 degrees and feels more like Spring, so I'm wearing a lightweight dress and sandals. Georgia weather is crazy... but I hate the cold, so I'll take it.

A Touch of Gold

The gold studs on today's dress (by Maje) turn this ordinary white lace dress into something so chic!

Some people might say I'm breaking a rule by wearing white in January, but I'm a big fan of "winter white" dresses.

The shoes match perfectly with the gold studs and help them stand out. Overall, it's a really flattering look. I just wish I didn't look so tired!

The dress is available in select sizes only at a few retailers, including Nordstrom, ShopBop, Zappos and the Rebecca Taylor website. I'm wearing an XS for reference. I think the sizing at Rebecca Taylor has changed, so I would size down.

The dress is super flattering, comfortable, and warm, and it's on sale now, so it's worth a splurge.

Since the dress is so grey, I thought I would wear these fun Manolo Blahnik pumps to add a pop of color.

My Holiday - 2019 Edition

Here it is: my last dress of the year -- of the decade! 2020 is just a few days away.

I just adore this dress -- the mock neck and flutter sleeves are very 'me'. I chose these bright metallic pumps to break up the darkness of the print a little bit, and I like the juxtaposition of hard (the studs) and soft (the floral pattern).

You may also notice a new accessory on my arm: my Christmas gift, a Prada purse! I still can't believe it's mine. Chapin got it on sale at RueLaLa!

Almost Christmas

I'm feeling ready for Christmas in this star-print sweater dress from Ted Baker! I still have baking to do and a few last presents to wrap, but otherwise I'm ready to really celebrate the holidays. Chapin and I are kicking things off tonight with dinner with my sister, Gail, and her husband, Rich.
