When I bought this dress last year, I envisioned wearing it around the holidays, maybe to my dad's annual Christmas choir concert or Christmas Eve mass with my family. Of course, the holidays in 2020 did not go off as planned, and this dress remained, unworn, in my closet...until today!
The weather is getting warmer here in Atlanta, so I won't have too many days left to wear long-sleeve velvet dresses like this one from Shoshanna. I love the deep emerald hue and the flattering overall fit and flare design.

Maybe the next time I wear this dress, I will be with my family. I saw my parents over the weekend, and since they are both vaccinated, I hugged them both, crying in the process. It was quite emotional to me, since it's been over a year now since I could give either of them a hug. I know there are better days ahead, and we just have to get through the next few months before returning to some sense of normalcy.
