Warm Weather Winter

Atlanta has been so warm the last few days. I didn't even bother with a jacket today. I guess we won't be getting any snow this winter!

Most of my dresses don't have sleeves, like today's dress, so I appreciate the warmer temperatures, but I do miss snow sometimes!

The dress has a side zipper so it's really easy to get on, as well as a tie at the neck. I'm wearing a size 2 for reference. This dress must run big, because the top and waist were a little loose on me.

Bitter Chocolate

The color of this dress from A.L.C. is metallic bitter chocolate, and it's certainly fitting. The silhouette isn't all that unique, but the color makes it stand out -- especially on a dreary, overcast January day in Atlanta! I think the dress works well with my coloring, too.

I actually brought the dress with us to Spain but never got a chance to wear it... so I'm wearing it for the first time to the office. It's a little dressy for work, but that's just me. I'd rather be overdressed than go to work in sweats.

I tried something different with my makeup today; can you tell? With this technique, you apply concealer to different points of the face, then contour, THEN apply foundation. Chapin bought me the purse in Spain a few months ago on our trip; it was an early Christmas present. I haven't seen this ombre gray hue on any purse here, so I am glad I chose it... and it works so well with this dress!

Ramy Brook

Today I'm wearing a Ramy Brook dress, a gift from my sister, Gail, this past Christmas. It's my first dress from the brand. The ruching is amazing for hiding flaws, and combined with the tight fit of the skirt, (think pencil skirt), it is really flattering.

Enter Lilly Pulitzer

I'll admit it - I don't really like most of the designs coming out of Lilly Pulitzer. The prints are so obnoxious, the colors more of a summer style, and the designs... for someone curvy like me, I need more than a shift dress that's just going to hang there.

BUT -- never say never. I just adored this eyelet dress as soon as I saw it. I've been waiting for it to go on sale, but being new to the brand, I didn't realize that there are only "Sunshine Sales" a few times a year. There was one last week, and I was able to score this dress for a great deal. It is super flattering, with a low cut neckline and belted waist, and in a gorgeous emerald green color. How could I NOT buy it?
