Today's dress from Donna Morgan features a bold, 60s-inspired geometric print and a high neck. What could be a stuffy look comes across as whimsical and fun thanks to the ruffled cap sleeves, ruffled hem and neck, and the sweet combination of colors. Pink, yellow and navy blue? Somehow it works.

Today's dress is not only in my favorite shade of blue, but is also lace with a sweetheart neckline. How could I resist?
Shoes: Sophia Webster Rosalind Sandals in Mermaid Glitter (no longer available)
I couldn't find these exact sandals online, but here is a similar pair on the Sophia Webster website. The heels feature stars!

Well, as of today, I'm fully vaccinated. I still have to wait about two weeks before I'm truly safe, but the relief and happiness I feel should last a long time. Thank you, doctors and scientists!

This flattering sheath dress from Milly features a slimming bodycon design that helps showcase every curve. The black dress, like every LBD, helps soften the frame, but the white piping is strategically placed to vertically draw the eye, so you look longer and leaner.
The dress isn't lined, so add your own Spanx or other undergarments if you're self conscious about hip and thigh bumps. I'm glad I didn't pay full price, since an unlined dress definitely needs some help in that department.
The dress runs a little big. I'm wearing a size small, and the fabric was bunching up for me. You may want to size down.
Find the dress on sale now at Neiman Marcus.
I've had these shoes for months but never had the opportunity to wear them - until today. I like how they dress up (class up) an ordinary black and white dress. They're suede, though, so hopefully the pollen won't be too bad today. I don't want them getting a green/yellow tinge. Ugh!

This asymmetrical dress by BCBGMaxAzria is form-fitting and fabulous, showing off your curves in the best way possible. The asymmetrical skirt hides flaws and the v-neckline draws the eye upward. Plus, the color is reminiscent of a sunset, and I'm very aware of nature right now. You can see how the trees behind me in the photo, so recently bare, are now starting to come to life. Springtime is truly here!
This dress also gave me an excuse to wear my current favorite pair of shoes from Sophia Webster. I love these jeweled sandals so much!
Shoes: Sophia Webster Ritzy High Heeled Sandals
These exact heels are no longer available, but the Ritzy sandal is available in a mule design on the Sophia Webster website.
I have to give a shout out to my friend Elizabeth, who is going through a hard time right now with her dog, Mabel. Our fur babies are so precious, so when they are ill, it's the worst feeling in the world. I'm here for you, Elizabeth. Sending hugs to you and Mabel.

Today I'm wearing a La Vie Rebecca Taylor dress, a gift from my parents this past Christmas. I wanted to wait until springtime to wear the dress, since the design -- with it's navy and blue color scheme and ruffled accents -- is so perfect for the season.
I thought I would wear it today as a special nod to my parents, whom I actually saw -- in person and without masks -- for Easter Sunday dinner. Chapin made turkey and roasted potatoes, my mom brought a few sides, and it was like Thanksgiving in April. It was wonderful to feel like we are returning to some sense of normalcy.

Today's sheath dress from Black Halo is perfect for springtime; the floral design features a variety of bold colors that make accessorizing so much fun.
Shoes: Jimmy Choo Mesh Pumps in Electric Blue (no longer available)
Monday, March 29, 2021
This polka dot dress from BCBGMaxAzria is a lot of fun, easy to wear and super flattering, so it's perfect for a breezy Spring day in Atlanta. I loved pairing it with my butterfly wedges from Sophia Webster. Polka dots and butterflies... what could be better?

I'm not sure what I love more about today's outfit -- the flattering ice blue lace dress from Shoshanna or these super cute (and super chic) sandals from Sophia Webster.
Dress: Shoshanna Kendra Lace Dress in Pale Blue (no longer available)
The dress may be sold out, but Shoshanna always has a variety of stunning lace dresses in stock, including this one -- available now at Neiman Marcus. The overall design is very similar to what I'm wearing today.
Shoes: Sophia Webster Madame Butterfly Crystal Suede Sandals (no longer available)
The shoes are also sold out, though some retailers are still carrying the flat version in limited sizing. You can always find butterfly shoes on the Sophia Webster website, though. I just adore the feminine and whimsical designs from this designer... don't you?

Spring arrived over the weekend, and with it the one-year anniversary of when we moved into our new home. It was also the same week everything started shutting down and my office officially went remote. It's hard to believe it's been an entire year since the pandemic began.
But there's hope! Today, I had my first COVID vaccine shot. I have an auto immune disease, so I called around and successfully secured an appointment. Chapin came with me, because they said if they had extra they would stick him, too -- and they did. So we both had our first shot today (Moderna vaccine).
I wore this dress to celebrate the arrival of a new season and a new, hopeful outlook on life and the year ahead. Good things are a-comin'!
Wednesday, March 17, 2021
I guess St. Patrick's Day brought me a little luck today, because I have an appointment to get my COVID vaccine. I've never been so excited to get a shot in my life!
Of course I'm wearing green today for the holiday. I've been saving this hunter green Milly dress to wear on what is now truly the luckiest day of the year.
As you can see, it's rainy and foggy in Atlanta today, and my hair is a frizzy mess! But who cares -- I'm getting vaccinated!
Dress: Milly Sweetheart Sleeveless Woven Ottoman Dress (no longer available)
The dress is sold out, but here is one that has a similar overall design.
I love pairing green and gold, so I opted to wear these gold wedges on this rainy day.
Shoes: Jimmy Choo Baxen Glitter Peep-Toe Gold Wedge Pumps in Gold (no longer available)
It's hard to see, but even my toenails are painted green.

Springing ahead has to start one of the worst weeks of the year. Losing an hour of sleep is really difficult for me, since I get so little sleep already, and it just seems to get even harder as I get older.
It was so hard to fall asleep last night -- but I still had to get up at my usual time. Ugh. Last year at this time we were moving and very distracted. COVID was just starting to hit and businesses were shutting down. At least there's hope; I can't wait until it's my turn to get the vaccine!
Dress: Shoshanna Bernadette Knit Dress (no longer available)
Shoes: Sophia Webster Mika Polka Dot Leather Pumps (no longer available)
I realized too late that the shoes are black and white and the dress is navy and white - oh well!

This dress was made for the office! The Tailored by Rebecca Taylor line is full of pieces perfect for a corporate setting. Of course, the collection launched last year, prior to COVID, so I'm unsure about its future. Most people are working from home in tees and sweats these days, but I still go to my office four days a week with just a few others who prefer the office setting.
Shoes: SJP by Sarah Jessica Parker 'Taylor' Silver T-Strap Pumps (no longer available)

When I bought this dress last year, I envisioned wearing it around the holidays, maybe to my dad's annual Christmas choir concert or Christmas Eve mass with my family. Of course, the holidays in 2020 did not go off as planned, and this dress remained, unworn, in my closet...until today!
The weather is getting warmer here in Atlanta, so I won't have too many days left to wear long-sleeve velvet dresses like this one from Shoshanna. I love the deep emerald hue and the flattering overall fit and flare design.
Dress: Shoshanna Laine V-Neck Long-Sleeve Pleated Velvet Dress in Emerald
Maybe the next time I wear this dress, I will be with my family. I saw my parents over the weekend, and since they are both vaccinated, I hugged them both, crying in the process. It was quite emotional to me, since it's been over a year now since I could give either of them a hug. I know there are better days ahead, and we just have to get through the next few months before returning to some sense of normalcy.
The shoes are no longer available, but here is a similar style in gold.
Wednesday, March 3, 2021
Today's dress from Rebecca Taylor borders on the costume-y, but I love it nonetheless. The velvet fabric, puffed sleeves and floral fabric design make me think of a wizard's robes during Medieval times! All it needs is some moon and stars to make the look complete.
If you like the look of these shoes, but not necessarily the platform aspect, check out these Sophia Webster sandals on 6pm.com. Remember, the Sophia Webster brand runs very small, so size up.

I'm so in love with my new SJP shoes. Aren't they beautiful? From the classy rhinestone bow to the thick glittery black fabric, these shoes are gorgeous from toe to heel. I don't think I'll ever get tired of donning a pair of new pumps!
I love the cut of this sheath dress - it's perfect for showing off the arms and shoulders, which I work six days a week with three, five, seven and even 12-pound weights -- but there's a lot of extra fabric around the hips. Maybe I needed to go up (or down) a size?
Thursday, February 25, 2021
Belted dresses were all the rage about ten years ago, and have recently made a comeback. This belted dress from Black Halo is flattering and chic, in a fit and flare style that hugs the waist but still shows off your curves.
Shoes: Sophia Webster Andie Bow Pink Satin Pumps (no longer available)
We are enjoying such beautiful weather here in Atlanta this week, so I definitely feel that Spring is on the way. Best of all, it's not completely dark when I drive home from the office. Winter is my least favorite season and I can't wait for it to be behind us. I'm hopeful that things will be relatively back to normal by summer. I want to travel and hug my family members again. A girl can dream... right?
Tuesday, February 23, 2021
The eye-catching gold color combined with the huge puff sleeves make this Alice + Olivia dress truly dramatic and fashion forward. Puff sleeves are very "in" right now -- although Chapin likes to say I'm coming from the '80s when I wear anything with a puffed up sleeve. (That's not necessarily a bad thing... is it? I loved the '80s!)
I love the dress. It's a little snug on me -- I'm wearing a size two and probably should have opted for the size four with all the desserts I've been eating lately -- but hopefully it's snug in all the right places.
The real problem with the dress: the thick fabric. It wrinkles so easily. I was pretty much a wrinkled mess from the time I got in the car to drive to the office.
Shoes: Jimmy Choo Hesper Strappy Sandals
Wednesday, February 17, 2021
What a week... and it's only Wednesday! For some reason, this week feels like it's lasting a long, long time. I guess it's the weather playing tricks on me. Although I shouldn't complain when most of the country is buried under a foot of snow. We didn't see any snow here in Atlanta -- just rain and then 25-degree weather.
I would like to see snow this winter, but I guess that's not going to happen. Oh well!
Today's outfit is warm and cozy -- a beautiful velvet dress by Rebecca Taylor. It's a special day in my family -- we celebrate two birthdays today -- so I'm glad I could wear such a gorgeous outfit in celebration of my mom and little sister. I miss my family so much!
Dress: Rebecca Taylor Ruched Velvet Dress (no longer available)

I know it's been a few weeks since my last post. It's been a busy time for me at work, and it's been difficult to get my daily photo in with all the construction going on at my house -- we are putting in a pool!
Today's dress is one I just had to wear this time of year, because it's perfect for Valentine's Day! I've had this red dress in my closet for awhile now. It's a heavier material that really hugs the curves, complemented by a pink belt that cinches in the waist.
Dress: Milly Belted Fitted Sheath Dress (no longer available)
The dress is no longer for sale, but the Milly site has a whole page dedicated to the brand's new Valentine's Day Collection. I'm partial to this red and pink floral lace dress... now it just has to go on sale!
Fittingly, Chapin surprised me at work today with a bouquet of red roses! Apparently, they will last all year (and smell amazing)! Learn more at Rose Box NYC.
Aren't they gorgeous? They remind me so much of my wedding bouquet.
I am a lucky girl, for sure.

This A.L.C. dress, in a beautiful butterscotch color featuring metallic gold thread, is the perfect winter dress: warm, fashionable and comfortable. My only issue: no zipper!
Monday, January 18, 2021
It's hard to tell from the photo, but the lace on today's dress is made up of leaves strewn with beautiful shades of pinks, blues and greens. The design really pops against the navy background, and combined with the puff sleeves and square neckline, make this dress truly special.
Shoes: Jimmy Choo Luna 100 Glitter Peep-Toe Pumps (no longer available)
These shoes are several years old, but Jimmy Choo has a new glitter pump that is very similar (sans the peep toe).

It's a cold and rainy start to the week here in Atlanta. It's hard to be motivated on such a dreary day, but I have so much to do that I can't afford to be distracted.
Fortunately, I was able to get my photo in before it started to rain. I enjoy wearing bright colors on darker days, so this Shoshanna dress was a perfect pick.
Dress: Shoshanna Nunzia Dress in Coral
The dress is no longer available to purchase -- but you can rent it on Rent the Runway. I'm wearing an XS for reference. It's a snug fit, and there are no zippers, so make sure you buy a size that makes it easy to get on and off. The dress was a little shorter than I expected, too.
Thursday, January 7, 2021
Today I'm wearing two gifts I received for Christmas. The Milly dress was a present from my sister, Gail, and the Jimmy Choo purse a gift from Chapin. It was my big gift this year. Chapin knows how to make me happy -- with fashion! In case I don't say it here often enough, I feel so blessed. It was hard not seeing my family for Christmas this year, but I'm hopeful that Christmas 2020 will be the last major holiday we have to spend alone.
Dress: Milly Hexagon Stitch Flare Dress
The dress is so soft and cozy, perfect for a rainy winter day. The fit-and-flare design is flattering, too, especially if you have wide hips like me.
Shoes: Jimmy Choo Bronx Black and Gold Buckle Sandals
There is a better shot of the purse below. It was really windy when I took the photo, so my hair is a mess, but you get the idea...
Tuesday, January 5, 2021
Today I'm wearing my first dress from A.L.C. I was excited to try out the brand, but I usually can't afford the dresses. Fortunately, this pretty blue dress with long sleeves and an asymmetrical hem recently went on sale. I love the print, the color and the overall innovative design.

2020 has come and gone. It's a new year, and after taking a few days off work to rest, relax and re-set, I'm raring to go!
Today's dress from Trina Turk is warm and comfortable. It's also, unfortunately, one of those dresses that seems to pick up every hair, thread and dust mote in the near vicinity! Oh well.
Outfit of the Day
I'm wearing a size two, but the dress seems to run large. There is a lot of extra material around the stomach.
Shoes: Jimmy Choo Love 85 Pointed Toe Pumps in Gold
I like how the gold in the shoes compliments the gold buttons on the sides of the skirt and arms.
Happy New Year Card
In case you didn't get an actual copy of our annual holiday/New Year card, I've included it below. We have sent one out every year but 2019, when we were so engrossed in getting the house ready to put on the market that I just didn't have the energy. I'm so glad that's behind us. If 2020 had any positives, it's been moving into our wonderful new house.
