Quite a Week

I know I haven't blogged all week, but there's a good reason: Things have been kind of crazy in my world of late.

I'm sure I've mentioned my love of working out on the blog before, but it's so ingrained as part of my daily routine, that when I don't work out, I feel really off kilter. That's why I am up at 5 a.m. each workday to run, stretch, lift weights, etc. I like starting my day by getting my heart rate up.

Monday, I went to my neighborhood's gym as usual only to discover that it had been vandalized. Some teens had taken a fire extinguisher and sprayed the contents over all the machines, weights and other equipment.

I don't know how anyone could get enjoyment out of such a senseless act. I ended up doing a Jillian Michaels workout video at home, then running a few miles outside. Like I said, I have to get my workout in somehow!

Monday night, we had a terrible storm, and the whole neighborhood ended up losing power for most of Tuesday. I didn't get much of a workout in that morning! It's hard to exercise in the dark.

Wednesday and Thursday were crazy busy at work, leaving no time to do my daily photo or update the blog. I apologize for being away for a full week!

Outfit of the Day:

Dress: Milly Italian Pinstripe Larissa Dress

The dress is available at the Milly Online Store, Neiman Marcus and Saks.

Milly tends to run a little small, so if something is really fitted, you may want to size up. I love how this dress takes a traditional concept - a men's pinstriped suit - and turns it into something so wearable for the ladies.

Shoes: Casadei

Hopefully next week won't be quite as hectic. Happy Weekend!

Busiest Time of the Year

Although most companies are wrapping things up for the year, we're still as busy as ever here at Local Marketing, Inc. Most of my day was filled with meeting after meeting, so it's always nice to pull out a professional yet chic sheath dress, like this one from Jay Godfrey, to help give you a boost of confidence. I believe that the right outfit not only allows you to feel good about yourself, but helps you perform better as well!

Dress: Jay Godfrey Macon Colorblock Sheath Dress

Shoes: Casadei Blade Peep Toe Pumps

The closed-toe version of these shoes were very popular among celebrities, and were spotted on no less than fashionista Victoria Beckham! The heels are very high, even for me, so I can't stand in them for long... but aren't they beautiful?

Things should start to slow down in the office tomorrow, and I'm looking forward to two long weekends in a row. Although Christmas doesn't mean as much to me as an adult, it's still a wonderful time of year to connect with loved ones and see old friends.

Friends who moved away often come back home this time of year, and I spent Saturday afternoon catching up with my good friend, Laura, whom I've known since 7th grade. Last night, I met up with another good friend, Erin, whom I also met in middle school. We ate Indian food at a great place in the suburbs: Urban Spice. I included a few pictures below.

Happy Holidays!
