Working White

White can be a very difficult color to wear, mainly because it can make you look wide. (Black, on the other hand, has the opposite effect.) This white Cynthia Steffe dress, however, has black vertical stripes placed very strategically on the body to help combat that issue.

Feeling Blue

It's so cold here in Atlanta today. I guess I should expect that, with Thanksgiving just two weeks away, but it feels like the temperatures started dropping fairly quickly. I hope we are not in for a bad winter.

Working on Halloween

Although in the past I have often dressed up for Halloween, as my career has advanced, I have been forced to treat Halloween like any other day. I can at least wear black for the occasion, though, and you can be sure I will be greeting our neighborhood trick-or-treaters in costume tonight (stay tuned).

Dress: Cynthia Steffe Black Peplum Dress

I have many, many little black dresses, but this Cynthia Steffe dress is one of my favorites. It's very flattering all around. I especially love the square neckline, which is very attractive in a more subtle way.

My husband has been traveling all week, so our little pug mix, Norman, has been very restless, especially the last two nights. I have dark circles to match the dress, I guess.

Here is our Halloween photo from this year. We did a whole Ghostbusters theme, though you can barely see Norman in his ghostbusting outfit. George looked so cute in his Stay Puft Marshmallow Man costume.

A Rose By Any Other Name...

It's been a long week already, so today I wanted to shake things up with a really vivid outfit: a hot pink dress with the lipstick to match.

Dress:
Cynthia Steffe Charlotte Color Block Dress in "Exotic Rose"

This chic Cynthia Steffe dress is still available in black and white from Amazon - and for only $100! You can always find great deals on clothing and shoes at Amazon. If you are a price sensitive shopper like me, you will want to check out Amazon whenever you buy something. There's even an app for that.

Part of the reason I like this dress so much is the black going down each side. The black lines are very slimming! I think that's why colorblocking is so popular; many of the styles are designed to help you look more slender, and I think this particular design is very effective.

I saw a little girl eyeing these pumps today, most likely due to the sparkle of the gold flecks. That's part of the reason I love Kate Spade; her feminine style is often combined with little flourishes that bring you right back to your childhood.
