My Valentine

It's been years since Chapin and I have ventured out for a Valentine's Day dinner, but after a very stressful work week for us both, we decided to make a reservation at a local restaurant called Aziza to celebrate the holiday. It was fun to get dressed up and venture out for an evening with my husband. 2022 marks the 23rd Valentine's Day we have spent together. (We spent our first at the now defunct Dante's Down the Hatch in February 2000.)

The five course meal included a shared hummus for the table, three additional food courses and one dessert option.

Here is what I ate for our Valentine's Day meal:

  • Hummus No. 1: Braised Duck, Tahini, Pecans, Pomegranate
  • Florida Oysters
  • Cauliflower with Tomato Butter, Creme Fraiche, Almonds and Za'atar
  • Scallops with Lobster Emulsion, Romanesco, Celeriac and Garden Herbs
  • For Dessert: Coconut Frangipane (Mango and Passion Fruit, Coconut Sorbet and Lychee)

It was an amazing meal! We also had cocktails and shared a bottle of Syrah!

For our evening out, I wore the Herve Leger dress Chapin gave me for Christmas, along with shoes and a purse by Sophia Webster. I got so many compliments on my purse throughout the evening.

It was a beautiful day in Atlanta, hovering around 70 degrees, so to end the evening with a fun meal out made the weekend very special. (I ran four miles outside in shorts it was so nice.) Happy Valentine's Day!
