A Fitting Floral

A sure sign of Fall in Atlanta: all the leaves littering the sidewalks and streets. Since I'm not a fan of the colder seasons, I'm trying hard to enjoy the cacophony of colors around me -- all the beautiful reds, yellows and oranges -- and dressing in bright floral dresses to remind me of the Spring to come.

Today's fit and flare dress is by Ted Baker London, and I call it my Tahani dress. (If you watch The Good Place, you know what I mean.) I'm a big fan of the higher neck here and the way it's designed to show off the shoulders. It's quite a beautiful look. Plus, it has pockets!

I paired the dress with my pink Christian Louboutins, which I don't get to wear enough! I thought they matched perfectly with the dress and the overall fun vibe of the outfit.

I spent the weekend working, seeing my family and watching Stranger Things 2, which Chapin and I just finished watching last night. I'm more obsessed with the show than ever. If you want to chat about this latest season, let me know.

Have fun watching if you haven't seen the show yet. I'm a little jealous you get to experience it all for the first time. This show is a mix of genres in the vein of Buffy and Angel... sci-fi, romance, thriller and intellectual, all the same time. Highly recommend!

Pretty in Pleats

It's February 2nd, Groundhog Dog, and it's 70 degrees here in Atlanta. I love this weather! I am celebrating by wearing this pink Shoshanna confection, which has pockets, pleats and a simple fit and flare silhouette. It's perfect for Valentine's Day... but I just couldn't wait. I am so stressed this week at work that I need a fashion pick-me-up.

The pumps are no longer available, and believe it or not, I found these on sale at Saks this past summer. They are so beautiful... works of art, and worth every penny.

Earrings: Three Sisters Jewelry Diamond Bar Stud Earrings

I get so many compliments on these earrings, and they are fairly inexpensive. I'm a big fan of Three Sisters Jewelry, and have bought my sisters (and myself) pieces from the site over the years. Laura has a necklace with the names of her sons, and Gail has a necklace that includes the first initials G (for Gail) and R (for her husband, Rich). The pieces are really flexible, too. When Laura had her second son, I just sent the necklace back to get an additional charm added on. Of course, my George necklace is also from Three Sisters Jewelry. Yes, I'm a fashion addict. And while I love dresses, shoes come in a close second. You may notice the special red soles in today's outfit photos. These beautiful pink pumps are Christian Louboutin pumps, only my second pair to date.

Dress: Black Halo Mariana Mini Dress

Black Halo is best known for its tightly fitting, body-con dresses, like the Jackie O, but occasionally the label will release a more traditional silhouette, like the fit and flare. Wearing this dress is like wearing a soft blanket. The material is quilted and so comfortable, making it a perfect outfit for days when you don't feel that great but still need to drag yourself to work.

It's a rare day when you can find Christian Louboutin shoes on sale. I scored these delicate pink pumps in the recent Saks Designer Sale in July, but I haven't had the opportunity to wear them... until now. I am just so in love with them. Dresses and shoes make my fashionista heart sing.
