Something About You

I finally have some decent new outfits to wear, thanks to my husband. He made the trip to Gil's Alterations (near Lenox Mall) on Saturday to pick up a bunch of clothes I was having altered. It's amazing to me how long some of these items have been in my closet, yet I was not at all motivated to take them in to be worked on. I guess it took the Fashion Challenge to light a fire under my butt.

Today I am wearing a v-neck china blue BCBGMaxAzria dress with subtle flower cut-out detailing along the skirt's hem. There are several things I like about this dress, including the puff sleeves, beautiful blue color and empire waist.

I am also wearing Dolce Vita Apple Suede Clog Pumps in a nude color that goes with everything! I especially love this color with blue, and the pumps just fit me so well that they are becoming one of my favorites pairs of shoes.

Whenever I wear blue, I also try to wear my sapphire and diamond jewelry: earrings I got a few years ago for Christmas, and the pendant that Chapin gave me on our first wedding anniversary. The pendant is in the shape of a flower, so it complements this dress especially well.

Gail was saying to me this weekend that there are 180 working days in a school year (she's a third grade teacher in Nashville, TN), so that means I have gone almost a whole school year without wearing the same outfit twice. It still amazes me how far I've taken the challenge. The nerdy high school girl inside me is smiling with pride.
